So my machine was shipped and arrived Feb 1, 2020 and the dealer came Feb 6, 2020 to install it. It was an all day job (would have taken me a lot longer, but he has done many of these so he is a pro).
Many boxes were delivered. I also needed to buy a battery backup surge protector. My cat, Misty, was the protector of the machine.
For those of you who are curious it takes a lot of room for a long arm machine. Handiquilter suggested that you have a 7’ by 15” space for it, more width would be needed if you add the handlebars to the back to do paper pantographs. I have enough room at the back to squeeze in the put quilts up on the wall, check and clean the rear wheels and tracks and other maintenance, but I’m thinking of moving it out slightly to have more space to do those things (if I have more space I may do them more frequently). I was able to get started quilting quilts immediately. As an added note you will need a little extra room (doesn’t need to be in your sewing though), to store the boxes the machine and the pro-stitcher came in. These need to be kept in case you need to ever ship them back to the manufacturer for service. And of course they will come In handy to protect the machines if you ever have to move them. But I have had my machine for 2 years now, put over 20,000,000 stitches on it and have taken it to the dealer once for a spa cleaning and check-up. It is probably due for another check-up soon.
